Posted September 04, 2019 11:03:58 A priest’s hat is a symbol of the priesthood in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

The headstone of a man named Mike Ritchie is on display in the church at the Priest Lake campgrounds near Fort McMurray.

It is an honour for him to wear a black-and-gold hat, which he did not want to wear for religious reasons, said his brother Mark Ritchie.

But a few years ago he got a letter from a group of people who asked him to change his religious hat to a black one.

“We had a lot of letters,” he said.

“The hat was in great demand, so we had a few people come in to buy hats.”

Mike Ritchie said the hat was a hit with the people who were interested in the hat.

“I had one of those hats in the car and I was driving home when I saw the billboard and it was like, ‘Oh my god, you are really famous’,” he said.

“We had people come up to us, we had people walk in the street and say, ‘Can I have your hat?'”

He wore it for the next six months.

“And then when I got back to my job I wore it every day, every weekend, and it just kept going up.”

Mike’s brother, Mark Ritchies, has been a priest for about 25 years.

He has also worked at the church for nearly 10.
